Samsung SCH-W880 is now official; call it the AMOLED 12M

The Korean manufacturer has officially announced the 12mpx shooter we saw yesterday and granted, the device is a great cameraphone but how bad is it’s official name? Called the AMOLED 12M, the name leaves nothing to imagination and already reveals an AMOLED display and a 12 megapixel camera. Run out of fancy names already Samsung? Anyways, we already knew about the AMOLED display and the banging 12mpx lens but, going by the official announcement, the AMOLED 12M does seem a bit disappointing. We still get the awesome 3.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen, microSD expansion, Bluetooth, terrestrial DMB receiver, and HD video recording, but there isn’t a tiniest clue on inclusion of WiFi or GPS, which makes it an awesome cameraphone but a lousy featurephone in other areas. But if it’s imaging you want, the SCH-W880 should deliver it. The AMOLED 12M will make its debut in Korea (most probably on SK Telecom) early October.
