| The Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1793 killed as many as 10,000 people in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Thousands, including President George Washington, fled the city, including most members of the Federal (Philadelphia was the US capital at this time) and city governments. As a result, civil services collapsed and almost vanished. However, the mayor remained and eventually, with the help of a "Committee of Twenty" composed of volunteer residents drawn from all walks of life, order and civil services were restored. Members of the Free African Society, a charitable organization of African-Americans originally founded as a self-help group, were instrumental in this regard. They served as nurses and home-care attendants, often for no pay, and Mayor William Clarkson later praised their work when racist claims of price-gouging and theft were raised. Yellow and black medal is 3.1 inches long. Chocker is 17.3 but can be sized to your preference at no extra cost. |

I have suspended a chunky Crazy Lace Agate stone from silver plated figarro chain and suspended tear drop crystals and glassed beaded flowers from the chain. These earrings are very feminine and are complemented by the feminine silver plated leverback earrings wires with tiny flower accents. It would appear that USAA bank is removing any reason for me to go to the bank with an iPhone app that allows me to deposit my checks virtually. All I need to do is take a picture of the front of my check with the iPhone, then turn the check over and snap the back of it. Once I hit e-send, the money is in the bank.
Of course, I don’t have an iPhone, and that is the case for many others. Another limitation on this new paperless service is it is currently only available for active-duty military personnel. I guess that just makes sense, doesn’t it? How can someone stationed in Iraq make a run to the bank?

LG has finally unveiled the newest Chocolate phone, part of the Black Label series, the BL40. So let’s cut to the chase and talk features! The phone will offer you a 4-inch wide screen capable of a 800 x 345 resolution and a 21:0 aspect ratio. Other specs include a 5-megapixel camera with Schneider Kreuznach lens, aGPS, WiFi and 7.2Mbps UMTS/HSDPA connectivity.
The phone will be available sometime in the third quarter and it will be launched in 54 countries worldwide. We don’t have any prices for you just yet but we do have plenty of pictures!

The LG Bliss will feature a 3-inch touchscreen, 2MP camera with video recording, 4 1/2 hours of talk time and a CAD$79.95 price point with 3-year contract on Bell.
The Keybo2, ont he other hand, will feature a 1.56-inch external display, 2.6-inch internal display, a 3MP camera with video recording, Bluetooth, 5 1/3 hours of talk time and a CAD$129.99 price point on a 3-year contract with Bell.
Sure, these phone aren’t exactly feature extensive but these are sure to make some teenagers day. Read more...There isn’t much underneath to look for in the KG376, but the saying “beauty is only skin deep” can take a hike when it comes this latest clamshell from LG. The KG376’s major features may consist of just an FM radio and a 128×128 pixel internal display, but the purple hue with the pink accent is all that is needed, keeping in mind that LG is definitely targeting young girls and women with this flipper. The only other feature that stands out is the external LED light (in lieu of an external display), which will twinkle up every time the lady in question gets a call or a text message. Details on pricing and availability are scarce right now, but we will keep you posted.
Read more...Last week we let you know that the Sex Offender Locator app was made available on the App Store. Today, however we were notified that Apple has officially taken the app off the store.
We don’t have official confirmation as to why the app was pulled but TechCrunch lets us know that in California it is illegal to sell one’s personal information for profit, sex offender or not. Regardless, rumors are circulating that the app’s developers plan on sueing Apple over the whole thing.
